This air conditioner intermittently squeals at an insanely high pitch that makes it unusable - after only a few weeks of use it started making this noise, which is so irritating that one cannot really use the air conditioner. I just wasted $500.

Less than 6 months and broken

Less than 6 months in and motor is done. Tried using it in the winter on fan mode to cool my room off for a little bit and motor is now shot. After 5 months I will be getting a new AC unit. Guess I am headed to Amazon to find a durable one.

GE products have always been a go to for the most part as a landlord of multiple units, especially when it comes to appliances; but this air conditioner that I bought is totally underwhelming and does not perform to the designated square footage specifications. I had to put a Lasko fan underneath it to increase its performance slightly, but it's about 200 ft.² under its potential.

Great combination of features for a economy price. Even better tho, this thing cools well beyond what it is rated at. I had planned on running my bedroom units during the day to keep this cooling the footage that its rated at. I havent had to do that which means this unit is cooling about 800 sq ft at 93 degree outdoor temps. Awesome.

This is my second GE air conditioner. The first one was a little better than the second one, but they are a piece of junk. They work for a little while, then the cold air part stops and there's no way to recharge it - other than buy a new one. Which won't be happening again!
